Senior Aerospace SSP specializes in designing, manufacturing, and qualifying complex ducting systems for aerospace applications. Since its humble roots in 1945, the campus has now expanded to include a 59,000 sq. ft high-volume production facility, in addition to its legacy 131,000 ft2 main buildings which combined, accommodate over 500 employees. What does the job involve?
Summary: Applies principles of cost accounting to conduct studies which provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems. Researches production cost data to prepare analysis of the business and to assist in forecasting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, studies and collects data to determine costs of business activity (i.e. raw material purchases, inventory, and labor).
- Analyzes data obtained and records results.
- Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
- Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
- Analyzes audits of costs and prepares reports.
- Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.
- Makes estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
- Recommends cost efficiencies in new product layouts.
- Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Develops and installs cost accounting system.
- Appraises and evaluates real property or equipment for sale, acquisition, or tax purposes.
- Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
- Other duties with the work as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree with major studies in accounting or business administration.
- 7-10 years of experience with Cost Accounting / Financial Analysis.
Required Skills:
- Language: Ability to communicate in English (verbally and written) effectively with all levels of employees within the Company.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply all accounting principles.
- Other Abilities: To perform this job successfully an individual must have experience with MAPICS manufacturing software and excellent MS Excel skills.
