Silver Oak Advisory Group is a mature, boutique financial planning and investment advisory firm in downtown Portland, Oregon. We have a dynamic small-office environment (8 employees) that requires us to step up and help outside of our job titles. We have a knack for detailed work and a desire to create a welcoming space for our clients. We enjoy working together, but we also like to have fun together. This Financial Advisor position would be an excellent fit for a financial planning-oriented CFP with 2-5 years of experience who wants to be the relationship manager for a set of Silver Oak clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Foster client relationships, including regular meetings, periodic reports and annual reviews
- Update, review and present financial plans
- Manage client investment portfolios, including investment selection, rebalancing and maintenance
- Review client tax returns and complete annual tax planning
- Proactively assist clients with other financial planning topics, including charitable giving, cash flow, employee benefits, insurance, estate planning and retirement planning
- Help facilitate hourly and planning project engagements
- Build/maintain relationships with centers of influence (attorneys, CPAs, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years financial industry experience
- CFP, or demonstrated progress toward the CFP
- Experience with financial planning software (MoneyGuidePro or similar)
- Experience working with clients on comprehensive personal financial planning topics, including retirement planning, employee benefits, insurance, investing, asset allocation, estate planning, income tax and executive compensation
- Strong proficiency with G Suite and Microsoft Office applications
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented, accurate, organized and able to set priorities in managing projects
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, in-person, small-office environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with processes and procedures at Schwab Institutional or similar
- Experience with trading on Schwab Institutional platform or similar
- Familiarity with concepts of portfolio design and diversification with a focus on using Vanguard and Dimensional Fund Advisor investments
Salary depends on experience and will be based on a national average salary of $85,000-$100,000 per year.
