About the role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. This position will perform important review and analysis work to ensure that our general ledger is accurate, as well as managing journal entries and reconciliations mainly for accounts in the intercompany and payables areas. This position requires a strong attention to detail, an innate intellectual curiosity, and a drive to find and resolve problems as they arise.
This position will be working with all levels of the organization and will require someone with very high personal and professional values, good judgement, and a desire to learn and grow with the company.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close
- Monitor General Ledger accounts for accuracy
- Research and direct activities to maintain an accurate GL
- Perform journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for intercompany, payables, and other balance sheet accounts
- Identify, implement, and/or support process improvements in the role’s areas of responsibility, as well as those on the team level
- Ensure transactions and processes are in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements
- Prepare and provide documentation for external auditors
- Support various corporate reporting, forecasting, analysis, and process improvement projects as assigned.
- Other tasks and duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years Accounting experience
- Experience in high tech or other manufacturing preferred
- CPA desirable
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Strong skills in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience utilizing an ERP system (Microsoft D365 preferred)
- Team player with well-developed interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong work ethic with superior time-management skills, capable of organizing and tracking multiple deadlines and priorities
- Creative and tenacious problem-solver with strong analytical skills
nLIGHT is proud to offer comprehensive COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Starting pay depends on qualifications:
- Senior Staff Accountant: $85,000 - $115,000

- Target Cash Bonus of 5% of your wages, depending on level
