Job Description:
At Regions, the Auditor performs internal audit activities in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (SPPIA).
Primary Responsibilities
- Assists in the development of the audit engagement plan, such as identifying and assessing risk
- Performs audit engagements according to the internal audit methodology with limited supervision
- Creates workpapers that meet the audit evidence requirements with limited supervision
- Drafts audit issues using established criteria in the internal audit methodology
- Identifies process improvements for the business based on understanding and analysis of process flows/operations
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in internal audit, external audit, banking, or risk management/compliance
Preferences- Professional certification or progression towards one, preferably CPA, CIA, CISA, CFSA, CRCM, CFE, CRP, CAMS, CFIRS, CISSP, or CBA
Skills and Competencies- Ability to listen actively and ask questions as required to validate understanding
- Ability to identify the appropriate level, timing, and type of communications for different audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
The Consumer & Compliance Auditor will seek a thorough understanding of processes related to consumer/mortgage loans, deposit products and services, regulatory compliance (specifically consumer protections laws and regulations), and branch and product delivery. They will utilize their knowledge of audit fundamentals and financial services risks/controls to challenge and test the business process control design to ensure Regions achieves objectives.
Previous experience auditing the following areas, along with experience in the development and utilization of data analytics in audit work to test related business risks, is preferred. Experience with financial controls and SOX also preferred.
- Mortgage/consumer loan origination and servicing;
- Deposit products and operations;
- Branch and product delivery channels; and/or
- Regulatory compliance.
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Median:$83,180.00 USD
