Job Description:
To employ broad knowledge to guide application team members on strategy, innovation, and collaborative support of Epic. To lead efforts to analyze operational needs, utilizing industry guidelines and best practices, to establish requirements and technical standards to achieve enterprise goals. To serve within organizational teams and provide insight on technology configurations as well as process impacts. To commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Creates frameworks for planning, designing and documentation of system functionality and changes.
- Sets key standards and best practices to ensure that work quality meets customer needs.
- Fosters a collaborative approach for system changes and issues resolution by bringing together all stakeholders.
- Works to mitigate systemic risk through build processes, system analysis and monitoring of system performance.
- Assists with creation of roadmaps for system functionality and timelines for major projects.
- Leads projects across functional teams and business leaders to determine the most appropriate technical strategy.
- Serves as a technical expert within the organization on system development and maintenance, data management and system support.
- Maintains professional accountability to support quality and patient safety efforts and alignment with enterprise strategic priorities.
- Builds and maintains partnerships within the organization. Engages stakeholders to understand requirements, integrating business knowledge with technical solutions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
Epic certification in area of support or certification obtained within 12 weeks of completing Epic training with no more than two (2) testing attempts required.
Preferred Skills: Experience in creating documentation tools for specialty areas such as obstetrics, maternity, rehabilitation, or behavioral health. Understanding of integration of documentation with other clinical care processes. Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements that impact clinical documentation a plus.
