About This PositionChristianaCare is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst for the maintenance and refinement processes related to ChristianaCare’s decision support and cost accounting system. The Analyst will identify new opportunities and trends that impact the services, revenue, standard costs for materials, labor and overhead in a complex setting. This role will also define new standardized business processes driving automation and efficiencies within the decision support system as well as prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly/year-end cost accounting reports. Finally, this position will provide analytical support with an emphasis on using data to discover and present actionable efficiency and growth opportunities.
Please Note - this position is 100% remote.
Some responsibilities include:- Supports the operation and maintenance of the Decision Support System (DSS).
- Produces monthly reconciliation and audits reports in support of the accurate representation and analysis of the data captured from our business operations systems.
- Provide a comprehensive financial view into clinical operations to help decision leaders make better, actionable decisions in support of performance improvements goals at the various functional levels within the organization.
- Works with IT and programming staff to ensure the required data elements from established source systems will support the DSS system optimization.
- Creates relevant work papers, schedules, and reconciliations that supports the DSS data integrity.
- Follows established audit and review procedures to ensure the accuracy / integrity of all cost and net patient revenue data within the system, validates integrated data to original sources where possible.
- Develop comprehensive views of clinical and financial operations that allow key stakeholders to make better, actionable decisions that drive performance and growth.
- Proactively engage in data mining, identify trends, Report, and share the analysis to key stakeholders.
- Work within clinical and financial operations to create performance metrics, establish baselines and track benchmarks that most align to on-going performance goals or new business models.
- Engage in preemptive analytics, root cause analysis, by searching within the data to discover the drivers of cost, revenue, and margin variances, communicate what happened and why it happened.
Education and experience requirements:- B.S./B.A. in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent business degree and or experience.
- At least seven years of experience in a major acute care hospital setting or equivalent.
- Preparation of product level costing within a decision support system is necessary.
