Purpose
The Cost Accountant undertakes all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, controlling, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparations. As well as the development of internal control policies and procedures along with the implementation of BVI finance policies. The Cost Accountant strengthens the companies finance organization in the context of a growth environment and an international group structure. Responsible for the financial reporting and accurate product standard costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the financials forecasts and the budget for the Sarasota site which includes setting of standard costs and manufacturing variances.
- Responsible for monitoring and financial reporting of manufacturing variances, operational KPI’s and financial performance.
- Participate in the definition of the product costing process, analyze deviations, provide interpretations and analysis.
- Manage finance and accounting operations for the legal entity in Sarasota in close cooperation with the Global Accounting/Controlling Team.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements in U.S.A. for accounting and taxation including local, state and federal requirements.
- Work with manufacturing to improve cost and productivity for the Sarasota site, which includes tracking of improvements projects.
- Ensure compliance with group accounting policies in coordination with corporate BVI finance.
- Prepare/review and submit monthly financial reporting in line with corporate calendar, including P&L, B/S, Capex, Headcount, Cash Flow Statement.
- Develop business processes/reporting tools and ensure accounting policies are implemented to strengthen internal controls.
- Other duties as required.
Qualification
Degree in economics, business administration, CPA in accounting or related field and 5 to 10 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
