Title: Investment Associate
Location: Houston, Texas, United States (On-site)
Exciting opportunity to join a prestigious investor in the global energy and infrastructure sectors! The business specializes in private investments in energy and energy-related infrastructure, globally.
As an Associate, you will be afforded a high level of responsibility and autonomy from the outset and will report to a Managing Director - offering a fantastic platform for learning and development. You will work across all the firm's core verticals, providing unrivalled exposure to a diverse array of transactions.
The Associate will conduct financial analysis on investments in the energy sector, prepare investment recommendations, assist in closing transactions, and contribute to the management of portfolio investments.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to origination, analysis and due diligence, documentation, closing and monitoring of investments.
Perform due diligence and financial analysis.
Develop financial models and financial reporting tools.
Monitor portfolio of investments by maintaining cash flow models, reviewing financial and operating reports and researching industry materials
Prepare and participate in regular portfolio reviews.
Develop investment recommendations and present them to senior members of the Investment team.
Develop new investment ideas and write investment memoranda.
Undertake research on broad industry trends and dynamics.
Create and maintain all backup data.
Organize and attend meetings with sponsors, bankers, and consultants.
Attend conferences and maintain industry contacts.
Key requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or engineering
Minimum of one to three years of analytical experience in private equity, leveraged finance,
project finance and/or investment banking
Background or experience in infrastructure and renewables
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Advanced financial modeling skills
Solid Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
Foreign language skills are a plus
Self-starter and team player
This role will be located in the Houston office on a hybrid basis.
