Job DescriptionPosition Objective:In support of the CDC Data, Analytics, and Visualization Task Force, the candidate will provide support for the CDC’s ongoing COVID-19 pandemic response. Will assist the task force in managing surveillance data sources, implementing data-driven responses, and integrating systems and analytic tools for the COVID-19 response.
Duties And Responsibilities- Provides systems development support using standard approaches.
- Holds meetings to gather requirements.
- Produces process maps for current and future processes.
- Drafts and circulates BRD to stakeholders and arranges meetings to discuss.
- Obtains sign off from project stakeholders.
- Updates Peer Project Analysis Review (PPAR) template and Sign Off log.
- Develops Rules of Business (ROB) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Creates user stories and use cases.
- Works with UA to develop prototypes and storyboards.
- Demonstrated knowledge in public health practice, epidemiology, and surveillance.
- Evaluates operational requirements relative to specific fields of expertise.
- Collects, verifies, and analyzes data to identify trends and potential problems.
- Creates reports, designs schedules, conducts analyses, and prepares presentations.
- Tracks inquiries and tasks daily.
- Responds to inquiries from the public.
- Connects CDC, government employees, and the public to data.
- Coordinates with DCIPHER and data stewards.
- Updates SOPs to reflect changes in access to restricted data sets.
- Provides assistance to external public health data queries.
- Triage queries to subject matter experts/data stewards as necessary.
- Provides expertise in public health policy and communication.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience may be substituted for education:
- 4+ years’ experience with a PhD;
- 6+ years’ experience with an MA/MS degree;
- 10+ years’ experience with an Associate’s Degree;
- 12+ years’ experience with no degree.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and SharePoint.
- U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of this job.
Minimum Qualifications- Previous CDC experience, preferably in an emergency response environment.

- Ability to quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies.
