We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join the Government Contract Advisory Practice. This position can be located in any of our 27 offices, 100% virtual or hybrid.
YOUR TEAM.The Accountant will work with external clients to provide timely, efficient accounting support in the government contracting environment. You will have responsibility to execute a wide range of accounting services, including monthly services and special projects.

YOUR ROLE.Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:- Develop and maintain an understanding of the accounting operations within each assigned client.
- Recommend, design, and implement departmental controls and procedures.
- Handle various accounting functions related to government contracts.
- Communicate with clients on an ongoing basis.
- Coach and mentor junior staff.
- Analyze various transactions and prepare monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements.
- Prepare annual incurred cost submissions and indirect rate proposals.
- Interact directly with Partners and other leaders on client and operational management.
Your Experience.The successful candidate will have:- B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Finance and 2-4 years experience in government contract accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of an ERP accounting system such as Unanet Govcon, Deltek Cospoint, and/or Jamis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), government contracting regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Flexible, organized and possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as a team member or as an individual contributor.
- Must have strong customer service orientation; be able to maintain a professional demeanor, and work under pressure to handle critical issues in a timely manner.
