Position Summary
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for reviews on the accounts assigned and any research associated with those accounts. This position conducts research and analyzes trends and information to provide recommendations to the Investment Policy Committee (IPC).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Gathers and analyzes company financial statements, industry, regulatory and economic information, and financial periodicals and newspapers.
- Interprets data concerning price, yield, stability, and future trends of investments.
- Draws charts and graphs to illustrate reports.
- Communicates with brokers and purchases investments for the company, according to company policy.
- May specialize in specific investment area, such as bond, commodity, equity, currency, or portfolio management.
- Completes trading on accounts assigned.
- Conducts portfolio activities with client needs in mind.
- Participates in client meetings when appropriate.
- Enhances existing processes to ensure efficiency is constantly improved.
- Tracks and analyzes financial trends to inform decisions.
- Validates the integrity of data.
- Prepares weekly market summaries.
- Supports other strategic initiatives and activities as warranted or assigned.
- Uses market pricing and congestion expertise to support asset sales.
- Leads multidisciplinary due diligence teams to assess, negotiate and recommend investment decisions to the IPC.
- Contributes to the delivery of monthly, quarterly, annual stakeholder/donor reporting.
- Builds and delivers a portfolio of advisory projects aligned with company strategy.
- Promotes a consistent approach to messaging and branding across materials.
- Evaluates opportunities with appropriate lens of risk, reward, and overall portfolio construction.
- Strategically identifies and executes on key investor relations and client service initiatives.
- Identifies new opportunities by staying abreast of market trends and development.
- Implements policies and programs which promote the company's standing in the community.
- Develops and maintains strong business relationships ensuring a successful corporate/community partnership.
- Guides and promotes progress toward established goals for the team.
- Monitors and analyzes sell-side financial models and valuation frameworks including but not limited to stock research and large cap stock model (decision making).
- Manages Model Maintenance and Security Set Maintenance on custom accounts assigned.
- Completes requested research from Advisors on assigned accounts including bond trading treasury and investment trades.
- Acts as IPC Lead on Macro (Less is More), Large Cap Stock Decision Making, ETF Decision Making, and Fixed Income.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• CFA designation preferred or desire to acquire CFA certification preferred.
• 4 – 7 years of experience in finance or business required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
