Objective:
Under minimal supervision, this position manages, analyzes and prepares an array of accounting functions primarily relating to the general ledger, budgets, and financial reports for Central Finance and consolidated Safran Seats USA. This position will serve as the finance team's expert in the field of inventories and cost accounting. The position covers all industrial stakes, obviously pivotal in a manufacturing business as i) the large majority of operating expenses and capital expenditures (more than 80%) flow in the Profit and Loss though inventory and ii) the Inventory represents the most important asset in the balance Sheet of the company (40% of total assets). Thus, requiring close collaboration with Operational Teams (Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Quality) in both plants in Gainesville, Texas and Chihuahua, Mexico, and some satellite locations.
Authorities:
This position has the authority to command-and-control purchase price variances, direct labor productivity variances, production quality variances, and variances as it relates to the consumption and addition of inventory. This position has the authority to control revaluation of inventoried items standard costing metrics. This position has the authority to report on behalf of the company cost analysis to Central Finance counterparts.
Main Function Responsibilities
A) Analyze and review inventory transactions and provide ad hoc analytical analysis/forecasts
B) With heightened attention to detail research and correct standard costing and relate variances.
C) Manage massive datasets (Excel, Power Pivot, and Power BI queries) for tracking 3.5M movements within inventory per month, in a wide number of business operations.
D) Provide forensic accounting work within massive databases to address abnormalities.
E) Assessment and preparation of monthly adjustment Journal Entries to record the outcome of monthly controls and analysis.
F) Provide expert analysis for cost reduction programs.
G) Lead the integration of new activities/processes as it relates to inventories and cost accounting.
H) Implement revisions of scoping and methodologies for standard costing.
I) Establish and review tracking of key performance indicators to Executive management.
J) Support and advise Operational Functions (Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, Programs) in the framework of transverse projects, changes management, continuous improvement and training.
K) Provide the expertise in matter of Inventories valuations and Industrial Accounting within the Business Unit.
L) Identify and promote axes of improvement for Company's industrial performance.
M) Promote the adequation and effectiveness of resources, systems, processes, and internal controls in place for meeting Group and Company standards.
Job Requirements
Qualification Requirements:
A. Education & Qualification
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or related business major with significant financial accounting coursework required.
B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge
• In addition to meeting the education requirement, requires an additional 5 years' experience in accounting preferably for a manufacturing company.
• Former experience in the Aerospace industry, a plus.
C. Professional Skills
• Must have knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
• Must have knowledge of manufacturing production, supply chain and cost accounting in a standard cost environment.
• Must have experience with sophisticated ERP and large data sets.
• Must have ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and projections.
• Must have working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and production-line efficiency analysis.
• Ability to develop and carry out long- and short-term objectives using effective time management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Power Point and Word).
D. Behavioral Skills
• Position requires high level of internal customer focus with frequent contact.
• Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills to create a sense of buy-in among team members.
• Capable of synthesizing information and recommending solutions.
E. Desirable Aspects
• Although not applied in the traditional sense as to fraud awareness, skills in forensic accounting techniques involved in precise transactional analysis are very useful.
• Experience with complex MRP (M3, Mapics, or SAP).
• Previous experience in Industrial/Cost Accounting.
