Job Description:
The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for providing proactive and insightful financial analysis to support the USIS Data Marketing (DDM) division within the USIS business unit to enable USIS to reach its short and long term strategic and financial objectives. They have ownership of the P&L for one of the two areas (IXI) that make up DDM. Often interface with the USIS Finance Senior management team and Senior Sales leadership team to deliver financial information in a concise and meaningful manner to foster effective decision making. This position will be the Subject matter experts for DDM IXI within USIS, and will have an influential role within the USIS DDM FPA team. This role will be a hybrid workplace model offering the flexibility to work remotely as well as in our office located in Midtown - 3 days in-office/2 WFH.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in value-added planning, budgeting and forecasting activities; including month end, quarter, and yearly close.
Work with various areas of the business and business unit management to prepare annual budgets, including summarizing the budget and preparing presentations with the FPA Lead supporting DDM sales initiatives.
Analyze DDM IXI spending and trends, and preparing a myriad of reports and synopsis of the business results for reporting to the business and management.
Work with the various areas of the business, managers and business unit management on monthly financial forecasts reflecting expenses, revenue, new business deals, among many ad hoc projects.
Assist in Revenue Recognition efforts to ensure accounting rules are followed, which includes reading through lengthy contracts and connecting with accounting.
Experience You'll Have:
University Bachelor degree in Finance or a related discipline.
2-3+ years of P&L management experience, preferably sales.
Must be able to work as a member of a team and influence others.
Must have strong PC skills, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Smartview.
Financial Modeling skills is a plus.
What could set you apart:
Experience using Hyperion, Oracle Projects and/or OBI (Business Intelligence Objects).
Knowledge/Experience with Revenue Recognition.
