Join the Howard Hanna Family of Companies! Hanna Commercial is looking to hire a Staff Accountant to join its Property Management Division. This position will report to the Director of Commercial Property Management and work closely with property managers and their assigned buildings.
This position is 4 days in office and 1 day remote.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable including entering all miscellaneous tenant charges monthly.
- Maintain tenant electric, water/sewer, and gas rebilling data with submeter billing company.
- Proactively communicate with tenants and property managers.
- Reconcile tenants' accounts as necessary and as guided by Property Manager.
- Provide assistance to Accounting Assistant in coding cash receipts.
- Set up bank deposits for direct deposits as needed.
- Review weekly payables listing and indicate available amount of cash before forwarding to Property Manager. Review coding of invoices on report.
- Assist with annual budgeting.
- Complete month-end closing, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis.
- Cash management and banking positive pay maintenance.
- Prepare annual CAM reconciliations.
- Other miscellaneous tasks to support Hanna Commercial such as handling special projects or specialized charges/billings.
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential to be successful in the role.
- Ability to be organized, multi-task, and be proactive to increase efficiency in position.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must exhibit good written and oral communication skills.
- 2-3 years of experience in a previous accounting role preferred.
- Four-year degree preferred in Accounting, Business, or a similar field.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and complete tasks in a team environment or work independently.
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with competitive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and partial paid parking). This position has the ability for hybrid work after the initial training period is successfully completed.
