Tellepsen is looking for a Project Accountant.
Job Purpose
Supports the project staff in order to assure administrative and general accounting tasks are completed in a timely and orderly manner. Serve as the primary liaison from accounting to all client representatives, operations team members, and subcontractors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare vendor set up information (set up form, W-9, etc.) when vendor is not required to be prequalified
- Follow through with subcontractor prequalification process for project vendors
- Process and track subcontracts, purchase orders and work orders
- Route subcontractor approval forms for project vendors
- Set up vendors in Pay Application software
- Process and track change orders
- Prepare payments to subcontractors upon funding
- Record receipt of compliance items
- Track and report job specific items, such as certified payroll and owner-controlled insurance programs
- Prepare and collect lien waivers from subcontractors
- Track supplier lien notices and obtain releases
- Prepare funding notice to subcontractor
- Post cash receipts
- Process allocations
- Assist with Work in Progress reporting
- Process and pay work order invoices
- Process joint check payments
- Process retainage payments
Owner Contract:
- Prepare owner billings
- Review schedule of value amounts against budget
- Assist with audit inquiries
- Answer subcontractor inquiries
- Answer project management inquiries
Qualifications:
- Two-year college degree or equivalent working experience
- Experience working as part of a team
- Expertise with the Microsoft Office suite of products with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to work with Viewpoint, PVault, GCPay
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be assertive as needed
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a partnering environment
