Job Description
Individual contributor with responsibility for pro-actively evaluating, negotiating with, measuring and managing vendors. Providing services and deliverables to a business function with sole responsibility for up to medium scale vendor (single or few countries, value generally less than $10mm annually, single or few TA/FAs utilizing) relationships and transactions with moderate complexity. Leads negotiations and drives transactions to completion on time and on budget. Active manager and primary owner of supplier categories and supplier relationships, including sourcing responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Pro-actively evaluate, negotiate with, measure and manage vendors.
- Negotiate and execute one-off agreements (and statements of work) in assigned categories as requested by management.
- Drive transactions to successful completion, accountable for successfully interacting with vendors through the relationship lifecycle.
- Provide initial document drafting and originating redlines to Legal following return of documents from counterparties.
- Review and analyze KPIs/metrics, holding vendors accountable to established performance criteria.
- Assist in establishing and maintain consistent practices and policies related to vendor activities.
- Collaborate with TAs/FAs and related TLC POCs and Outsourcing Project Managers.
- Provide effective communication to both internal and external partners.
- Implement the comprehensive plan for savings goals across all contracting functions.
- Liaise with Corporate Purchasing, TAs/FAs and fellow delegated purchasing functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5-8 years combined experience in legal, strategy or financial analysis required; prefer Pharmaceutical, Licensing, CRO or Legal experience.
- Understanding of outsourcing processes, corporate purchasing standards, legal, OEC, and finance policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate in a global environment without direct reporting responsibility/authority.
- Proven project management skills.
- Strong analytical skills to understand scientific and financial data.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships.
- Requires problem-solving abilities at both strategic and operational levels.
