Position Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes and activities related to hardware products. This role involves developing and implementing quality strategies, designing and executing tests on new and existing hardware products to ensure that they meet the requisite functional, technical, and regulatory compliance and maintain high overall product quality. From hand-held tablet devices to Las Vegas style gaming cabinets, our array of products is diverse and advanced. Interface with Hardware Development and other Product Development staff to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Primary Roles And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy for hardware products.
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of hardware products.
- Conduct thorough testing of hardware products to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) to ensure proper testing and certification of hardware products.
- Work closely with UL to address any issues or concerns related to product testing and approval.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure the successful development and launch of high-quality hardware products.
- Establish and maintain supplier quality management processes to ensure the selection and performance of reliable and compliant suppliers.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate supplier capabilities and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify areas for improvement in the hardware development and manufacturing processes and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality.
- Interface with the Hardware Engineering Department and other members of the Product Support Engineering Department to resolve all reported issues before the product is released.
- Responsible for all project escalations for each assigned project.
- Manage, mentor, and lead multiple Hardware QA Engineers on multiple projects.
- Provide a weekly project status report for each project assigned to the team.
- Organize and lead project team meetings and reviews.
- Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to the hardware QA team, including training and development initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to hardware quality assurance.
Requirements
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the QA and Hardware Engineering teams on special projects.
- Establish key contacts with upstream organizations that have a direct impact on hardware products.
- Introduce and lead Hardware QA process improvement initiatives.
- May have a small team of engineers as direct reports.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hardware quality assurance, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and requirements for hardware products, including working experience with UL standards.
- Experience in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Familiarity with supplier quality management processes and supplier auditing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in using quality assurance tools and software.
- Certifications in quality assurance, such as Six Sigma or ASQ, are a plus.
- Experience in leading Hardware QA teams through a project's complete test life cycle.
- Experience in deriving hardware test plans/cases from internal product and regulatory requirements.
- Gaming industry experience preferred.
Experience And Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality assurance, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

- 10+ years of relevant Hardware QA work experience.
