JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager, Patient Financial Services, is responsible for overseeing and managing the Patient Financial Services Department; gives direction in hiring, evaluation, and progressive discipline; and is responsible for hiring, monitoring, and maintaining outside agencies related to the Financial Services Department. This position monitors the collection of payments on all patient accounts in accordance with established OMC policies and procedures. The Manager, Patient Financial Services, manages the operations of the Patient Account Representatives who bill for both hospital and physician services, and assists in the development and implementation of Olympic Memorial Hospital’s billing policies, as well as with new processes and procedures designed to improve billing services and the efficiency of operations. This position promotes cooperation and teamwork within the department as well as ancillary departments. This role oversees the output and quality of all Patient Financial Services functions, and collaborates with the Director of Revenue Cycle to identify strategies for performance improvement on a quarterly basis. This position manages and monitors the performance of all business office staff members, motivating them to work quickly and with precision. This individual also works interdependently with other departments’ staff, creates reports regularly, and completes other duties as assigned. The Manager is ultimately responsible for much of Olympic Medical Center’s financial health as the staff they manage and their associated functions play a large role in reimbursement, cash flow, and whether a patient will return for service to restart the revenue cycle process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration required (comparable education and experience may be considered)
Experience:
• Minimum of three (3) years’ office management or related supervisory experience required
• Five (5) years’ experience in healthcare revenue cycle or related field preferred
