Essential Job Functions
Financial Management:
- Accountable for forecasting / reporting processes for responsibility scope, active monitoring, and analysis / insights into actual versus expected performance.
- Develop and maintain driver-based forecast models to predict business financial performance under multiple scenarios.
- Leverage quantitative techniques that incorporate business drivers and external economic variables to predict loan / deposit flows and changes in pricing, non-interest income, and expense.
- Build financial models that evaluate profitability and returns for strategic initiatives and investment business cases.
- Partner with Controllership and Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure segment financials are complete and accurate during monthly close.
- Develop and maintain analysis and reporting that tracks business and initiative performance / profitability versus historical, budgeted, and forecasted performance.
- Continuously identify and execute opportunities to eliminate redundant activities and to transform inefficient / manual activity into automated or self-service processes.
Performance Management:
- Utilize data management and financial analysis skills to provide Finance and the Line of Business with transparency into performance relative to strategic priorities and key performance indicators that informs decision making.
- Support the Line of Business in the rollout and execution of strategies / initiatives with data-driven insights that substantiate progress, execution, and value capture.
- Proactively monitor activity / trends and work closely with Line of Business partners to elevate critical focus areas for discussion during business reviews.
- Present to senior leadership with a focus on translating performance and financial trends into forward-looking opportunities and risks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (Finance, Accounting or related field).
- 3+ years of financial management and analytical experience, preferably with exposure to commercial banking, investment banking, or related industry.
- Organized self-starter with the ability to think and work independently and creatively.
- Strong financial and/or accounting acumen.
- Ability to anticipate questions, resolve issues, and develop analysis / summary materials independently with limited direction.
- Excellent ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with multiple individuals and teams at various levels of the organization.
- Proven team player, willing to assist others as needed to ensure that group deadlines are met and quality standards achieved.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Experience working with financial system reporting environments a plus (e.g., Workday, IBM TM1 or Cognos, etc.).
Compensation and Benefits
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $70,000 to $120,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
