Objective
We are seeking an Associate Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting of our monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Prepare monthly trial balance reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Post journal entries.
- Assist with the monthly close process.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Act as liaison with external audits.
- Prepare reports for a multi-company environment on regular, special, and as needed basis.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Competencies
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products.
- Previous business experience a plus with emphasis on day to day accounting functions.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Ability to exercise independent direction and judgement, and work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Experience in a multi-company environment preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete tasks that require high attention to detail, with minimal supervision.
- Accounting activities including financial reporting and year end audit preparation.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Senior Accountant with a direct line to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional environment, which may include exposure to all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt position.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor's in accounting.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience with a large automated accounting system a plus.
- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
- Ability to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Zero tolerance drug free company.
