Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Senior Staff Accountant will support daily accounting functions of multiple business entities, including journal entries, general ledger analysis, invoicing, expense analysis, sales/use tax, and bank transactions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform month-end activities according to the closing schedule, such as journal entry preparation, results analysis, GL account reconciliations, verification, and production of financial statements and management reports.
- Assist in establishing and implementing proper accounting processes, methods, policies, and principles.
- Review and book daily bank transactions, manage invoicing, book expenses, and maintain accuracy of purchase orders in inventory and accounting systems.
- Prepare and file various regulatory and annual filings.
- Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures.
- Produce ad-hoc accounting reports as requested.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles (US-GAAP), practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of Sales Tax requirements.
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management with previous manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 5-10 years of accounting experience.
- Ability to work onsite 3 days per week required.
