TITLE: SENIOR HL COMPLIANCE SPCLST
STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
DEPARTMENT: HOME LOAN OPERATIONS
REPORTS TO: SUP – HL COMPLIANCE SUPPORT
JOB CODE: 1319
PAY RANGE: $22.09 - $25.00 HOURLY
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Perform multiple functions supporting all levels of the Home Loans Department and the Management team, including and not limited to providing support in a backup role for other positions within the department.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
- Assist any member in the completion of the online loan application process that may require/request assistance.
- Update and maintain the online referral system with accurate status and dates to ensure the referring employee is kept informed of the referral’s progress.
- Assist in product validation, statement validation, and system enhancement testing as directed by management.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including Bank Secrecy and Anti-Money Laundering laws appropriate to the position.
- Ensure proper retention and filing of multiple real estate loan documents for compliance and within department timeframes.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge in all Real Estate Department positions i.e. processor, support tech, data tech and secondary market assistant.
- Keep current and up to speed with updates on HMDA, RESPA, Real Estate Lending guidelines, FNMA, PERS, various Investors and Federal or State regulations from Home Loans Management.
- Back up Secondary Market Assistant position with daily rates, locking loans and delivery of loans to various investors to insure compliance to established timelines.
- Assist with other duties or special projects as assigned by management.
- Communicate information to members, co-workers, branches, title, appraisal companies and management.
- Assist with training of new employees and follow up training of existing employees.
PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:
- Effective oral and written communication skills required.
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:
- INTERNAL: Home Loans Department, branch staff, other departments and members.
- EXTERNAL: Borrowers, title companies, realtors, investors, appraisers and various other vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION: Successful completion of High School curriculum is required.
- EXPERIENCE: Five years or more in a Real Estate department or financial institution performing similar functions is desired.
- KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Knowledge of Real Estate Lending regulations and their application, organization, training skills and member relations skills. Telephone skills. Ability to multi-task in response to volume and process requirements. Working knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work well independently. Typing, ten key, electronic banking equipment, and facsimile machines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
- Corrected vision within the normal range.
- Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. as may be required.
- Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
