Position Summary
The Director of Corporate Accounting will oversee a set of accounting activities to ensure timely and accurate financial information in accordance with US GAAP. This person will lead key financial reporting activities, including monthly consolidation, preparation of monthly consolidated balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flows, and other internal reporting schedules. This person will also lead the annual audits of US Radiology Specialists and our joint ventures, provide technical accounting guidance, and assist FP&A with the preparation of monthly board reports, cash flow forecasts, bank reporting, and other special projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting / Technical Accounting
- Oversee monthly consolidation and preparation of three-statement financial statement model monthly
- Lead the audit of the consolidated group and joint venture financial statements
- Lead the technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards and provide business guidance in plain English terms, on matters involving significant judgment or complex application of US GAAP, including the preparation of technical accounting memos
Management Reporting and FP&A
- Assist corporate FP&A in preparing monthly operating results presentations and board reporting
- Assist corporate FP&A in preparing financial information as required by both external and internal users
- Analyze data or information by identifying any problems and/or issues and work with the corporate departments and/or operations to resolve
Other Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures and provide guidance to corporate departments and operating companies
- Liaise with other corporate departments and operating companies on financial reporting and accounting issues
- Complete ad hoc tasks such as reporting, calculations, and research or report information to corporate departments as needed
- Work closely with finance to achieve company reporting goals
- Manage 1 direct report
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related discipline
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification required
Experience (years and type):
- 4-8 years of public and private experience with exposure to complex accounting issues, technical research, and strong US GAAP knowledge
- SEC Reporting knowledge is a plus
Additional Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven ability to effectively communicate accounting guidance, resolve issues, and partner with non-accounting colleagues to review and provide accounting guidance
- Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to drive projects to successful completion
- Ability to multi-task and meet designated deadlines
- Experience managing others
