POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chart Auditor will be responsible for reviewing medical records for accuracy, quality assurance, and billing purposes. The Chart Auditor will assess medical records to determine if the E/M, procedures, HCC/ICD-10 codes are within the health care policies and standards. The Chart Auditor will perform internal audits and remain up-to-date on current policy and procedural guidelines to ensure proper coding and compliance with policy guidelines. The Chart Auditor will promote and encourage compliance through appropriate education and training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse with clinical experience in both hospital and office nursing or Certified Professional Coder with prior coding experience. If the candidate is a graduate from a school of nursing without certification, then AAPC (CPC and CRC) certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are required as communication with providers and managerial staff is essential. Knowledge and experience in Medicare rules and regulations, coding, and billing principles are necessary. The candidate must be motivated, possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, and be capable of working effectively with physicians and non-physicians. Strong oral presentation skills are required, as group presentations may be necessary. Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks within a designated timeframe are essential.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. or 7:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
