Overview
This position oversees the daily disbursement of escrow and principal curtailment funds to servicers. Request and track funds to and from servicers and vendors and ensure funds received are booked to the correct GL accounts. This position works closely with internal clients, including Funding Department, Accounting/finance, Treasury, Post Closing and Government insuring as well as with external parties such as title vendors and servicers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day to day oversight for new account set up escrow and principal curtailment remittances to servicers. Obtain appropriate approvals for release of funds.
- Oversee the GL accounting report process to clear general ledgers items.
- Oversee the reconciliation of the checks received from outside sources (vendors, title, and services) to ensure funds are applied timely to appropriate accounts.
- Manage the process and track all supplemental wire requests.
- Ensure policies and procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external counterparts.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy related to funding and reporting.
- Excellent decision making skills, problem solving and analytical skills. Strong multi-tasking ability and ability to manage strict deadlines. Skill in negotiating issues and resolving problems.
- Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Skills in effective verbal and written communication including active listening and presenting findings and recommendations.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, staff and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment.
- Three to five years or more of residential mortgage Closing, Funding and/or Post Closing experience. Accounting or Finance experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with excel and large spreadsheets required.
