Job Description
This role involves driving financial planning processes, being responsible for management reporting, and spearheading commercial excellence initiatives. You'll work closely with the BU Finance Director, Business Unit Financial Controller, and FP&A Director, contributing to financial decisions. We are looking for someone who has a "hands on" approach but someone who is also able to work strategically to allow the business to further scale and deliver on its growth agenda. In this role, you will lead a team of finance professionals in the U.S., ensuring effective people management, alignment of QA priorities, and achievement of functional goals in support of the broader business operations and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead operating plans, quarterly forecasts, and internal reporting.
- Drive budgeting processes, optimize expense management, and control operational costs.
- Lead respective team to deliver on operational activities, while also ensuring compliance with applicable compliance standards.
- Responsible for personnel activities of direct reports, including staffing, training, performance evaluations, mentoring and coaching, and goal setting including setting employee objectives linked to business initiatives and other key performance indicators.
- Oversee the engagement and development of employees and talent necessary to reach operational objectives.
- Support month-end accounting close processes and prepare financial materials.
- Develop key operational metrics and identify process/profitability improvements.
- Lead the Business Unit P&L, ensuring performance targets are met.
- Drive site financial P&L ownership and FP&A operational improvements.
- Provide analytical insight to assess new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of US GAAP/IFRS and cost accounting practices.
- Proven success managing and developing business staff, with the demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team in a dynamic working environment.
- Leadership experience in high-performance teams.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
- Prior experience with Tableau and Business Objects is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with Adaptive Planning is preferred.
- ERP experience required, SAP is preferred.
- Professional qualification in finance or accounting (MBA and/or CIMA, ACA/CPA preferred).
- Experience in a multinational environment.
