The OpportunityAs the Safety Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in enhancing our organization's safety performance and risk management capabilities. By leveraging advanced data analysis techniques, you will help communicate actionable insights from safety data to support better decision-making and drive continuous improvement. The position is located in Houston, TX or Calgary, AB.
What You'll Do- Analyze safety performance data, identify patterns and insights, and communicate them through required monthly reporting.
- Drive and lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement for performance reporting and meeting stakeholder needs.
- Responsible for meeting external reporting requirements and deadlines for regulators and peer benchmark associations, such as Energy Safety Canada (ESC).
- Provide support and backup to the senior analyst responsible for monthly reporting to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Operations Committee (Ops Comm).
- Provide support and backup to the senior analyst responsible for monthly Learning from Incident (LFI) Meetings for all of GasCo (Canada, US, and Mexico).
- Collaborate with team members and provide support on peer initiatives, while also driving your own initiatives.
- Review injury and vehicle incidents and confirm that all data has been provided to determine incident recordability in alignment with TC Energy's recordable standards.
- Collaborate with safety and operations teams to translate data-driven insights into concrete recommendations for improving safety policies, training programs, and risk mitigation strategies.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in performance analysis, with a strong background in safety, risk management, or operations.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with safety data management systems, incident reporting processes, and industry regulations.
- A strong ethical compass to ensure data is used responsibly and in alignment with organizational values.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills to effectively translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications- Understanding of Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) and the Safety Classification and Learning (SCL) Model.
- Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including safety, operations, and IT.
- Ability to speak French and/or Spanish.
- Experience in the energy industry or a related field.
