We're excited to continue solidifying that foundation as we are looking for a Benefit Financial Analyst to join our growing team in Manassas, Virginia or Columbia, Maryland. (Teammate has the ability to select their reporting office).
The purpose of the Benefit Financial Analyst position is to utilize technical expertise to retain clients by providing financial expertise. The Benefit Financial analyst will identify, plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs. Role includes evaluating financial and utilization metrics for clients including but not limited to monthly financial reports, utilization metrics and benchmarks as well as assist negotiating renewal proposals and preparing and recommending plan changes and/or alternative funding recommendations.

General Responsibilities:
- Monitor, prepare and send monthly financial reports to clients with analysis of activity and large claim detail
- Prepare financial projections, large claims analysis, specific stop loss analysis, claim trends, etc.
- Attend client meetings to deliver results and discuss customer financial implications of analysis
- Assist with preparation of requests for proposals and renewals of benefit coverages
- Assist with review of contracts, SPDs, agreements, etc. for accuracy.Works with clients and markets to answer questions and resolve issues
Required Qualifications:
- Life and Health license (if not already held, obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Proficient with management operating systems that support insurance sales, tracking and service.
- Proficient with Microsoft Tools, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Minimum of 3+ year of experience in the insurance industry with a strong emphasis in employee benefits insurance specializing in large groups and self-funding.
- College degree preferred but not required with appropriate work experience.
