Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Novelis North America Finance team is seeking a Manager, Finance Transformation. The person in this role will report to the Senior Manager, Finance. The role manages cross-functional workstreams in the delivery of improvement projects including but not limited to automation projects utilizing robotics, Access, ACL, Alteryx, SQL, Python, etc. with a focus on results that improve controls, reduce risks, and improve efficiency and effectiveness. This role is expected to leverage effective communication skills to translate complex requirements in a manner that is easy to understand. They will provide project management support throughout several initiatives and will handle process documentation, gathering business requirements, applying process improvement methodologies and tools, coordinating with IT on application implementation and releases, and providing training on process changes.
Responsibilities:
- Apply process improvement methodologies and tools to evaluate and improve efficiencies, reduce risk and/or increase standardization.
- Conduct appropriate business process assessment and analysis.
- Create and implement test plans for redesigned processes.
- Support large rapid improvement events (RIEs) and lead small RIEs.
- Support project teams in process quality activities by educating and coaching others on process improvement philosophy, tools, and application.
- Develop and support training documents and job aids on new processes to end-users.
- Train, coordinate, and resolve issues related to automated processes.
- Lead change management effort on automated processes and governance of technology solutions in coordination with IT.
- Work proactively with cross-functional teams to analyze and document new or changed integrated business processes and procedures and capture business requirements and perform thorough testing.
- Document processes and guides to be used by external vendors who support Novelis finance functions including but not limited to Global Business Services and External Auditors.
- Work with key process owners to identify improvement opportunities and implement automation solutions with limited direction.
- Oversee the integration of technology solutions to automate routine tasks and improve data accuracy.
- Understand end-user requirements and make recommendations for solutions as needed.
- Provide functional support related to regularly scheduled IT releases and ongoing incident resolution.
- Collaborate with users to support system reporting capabilities.
- Communicate system changes and new processes to impacted users; create knowledge transfer tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, IT or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Continuous Improvement, Business Transformation or related field. This should include 3-5 years of experience using RPA technologies (preferably UI Path), SQL, ACL, Alteryx, Python, or robotics.
- Well-organized with a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
- Able to work autonomously with limited direction, and operate in a dynamic, global organization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships cross-functionally.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to influence without direct supervisory control.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Access, VBA, T-SQL.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA.
- Experience with Alteryx, SQL, and/or Python.
- SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP system.
- Hyperion or OneStream.
- Experience building dashboards, preferably with Power BI.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
