WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
WORK LOCATION: 301 E. Central
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Manager-SpringNet Business Development or designee, supports and assists with the marketing function of obtaining and maintaining customers and implementing business marketing programs for City Utilities’ SpringNet division. Builds relationships with potential customers and assists them with evaluating business requirements in a consultative manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, or related field is preferred. Formal or certified sales experience is required. Exceptional sales experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis in lieu of degree. Two years’ recent progressively responsible business development experience, sales support, or customer service with telecommunications, data networking, and/or ISP products and services is required. Must have a proven track record of sales, preferably in data networking and/or ISP products.
Licensing/Certification:
Must have a valid driver’s license (minimum Class F).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be energetic, a visionary, and possess positive communication skills, as this person will be representing City Utilities’ SpringNet in the community.
- Broad technical background and a high-level working knowledge of data networking and/or ISP services and equipment.
- Ability to communicate technical information in non-technical terms.
- Work independently, unsupervised, and deal effectively with City Utilities’ personnel and the general public.
- Meet deadlines and schedule work for timely completion.
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills must be demonstrated.
- Must be highly organized and self-directed.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of database systems is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of City Utilities’ networking equipment, standards, and procedures is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Typically, sedentary work. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication. Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and close visual acuity to operate a computer is required. Bending and stooping may be required for filing and file retrieval.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Requires in-town travel and occasional out-of-town travel. Must be able to work successfully with diverse groups of people.
