JOB SUMMARY:
Membership consultants support company core values and company goals. The primary role of a membership consultant is to promote the sale of new memberships by consulting with appointments and walk-ins to learn their fitness goals, tour them throughout the club, and choose the membership that best fits their goals. Be instrumental in their fitness quest and earn their referrals by getting them set up with a trainer and by providing motivational support through follow up meetings and phone calls.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Up to date on current membership sales campaigns and to be able to intelligently present them to prospects.
- Knowledgeable of all club activities (Group Fitness Calendar, Phitt Program, and Activity Calendar).
- Educate members and guests about our programs and services and provide them encouragement in their fitness goals.
- Greet all members and guests with a smile, and by name whenever possible.
- Help contribute towards the club’s monthly membership goals.
- Ready for tours and presentations, while following proper procedures and correct use of forms and provided systems.
- Use the Lead Speak Management system correctly (Following up with guests and members).
- Utilize and follow all sales systems and standard operating procedures.
- Set and meet personal sales goals daily.
- Set a minimum of 5 new appointments daily (not including resets or renewals), conduct 2 presentations each workday and sell 1 membership each workday.
- Prospect on a consistent basis by internal and external outreach.
- Make 50 phone contacts each workday. This will be non-member and member contacts.
- Follow up with new members the day after their training assessment and 14 to 30 days from their enrollment.
- Follow up on all missed prospects within 3 days of the initial visit. Follow up will continue until the prospect becomes a new member or is no longer interested in a membership.
- Send thank you cards to all new members on the day of enrollment.
- Set up business of the week, every week.
- Service your lead boxes twice a week.
- Follow up on telephone inquiries that do not make an appointment on the initial call.
- Service members and potential members by always extending excellent customer service.
- Help keep the club clean and well maintained.
- Complete daily results worksheet every workday. Every tour and all information calls are to be logged on the daily worksheet – NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Attend all sales meetings, club meetings, events, trainings and community outreach events as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS – WHO YOU ARE:
- Outgoing personality and not be afraid to meet and talk with new members and guests.
- Possess computer skills and able to learn and use the company’s software system.
- Positive attitude and polite behavior in dealings with members and/or fellow team members.
- Prior sales experience or will to attitude toward learning the company sales system.
- Ability to engage with other team members, members and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Maintain professionalism at all times, including but not limited to, staying on task during work hours.
- Be available to work flexible hours at the request of management.
- Passion for fitness/health/wellness industry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sit for an extended period of time. Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Team members are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
