Be at the forefront of the WDFW HR team, process personnel actions through the Human Resources Management System (HRMS), preparing letters, forms, and reports that contribute to efficient workplace operations.
With your attention to detail, conduct in-depth research on employee records, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance while keeping files well-organized.
What to Expect-
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Human Resource Consultant 1 will:
Prepare and process personnel actions for resignations, terminations, new hires, promotions, transfers, reallocations and leaves with associated data-entry keying requirements:
- Receive approved HR Action forms, verify information, and prepare for data entry.
- Accurately and in accordance with timelines enter information into HRMS (SAP) by prioritizing workload and using effective dating.
- Generate Payroll JIRA ticket after HRMS entry to Payroll for processing.
- Research and analyze problems that arise within HRMS hiring and other actions. Make recommendations and/or requests on possible actions to resolve issues after consultation with other team members of Human Resources.
- Communicate and advise Payroll on any retroactive Payroll related issues/actions.
- Consult with supervisors as needed on any HRMS actions.
Process new hires, separating employees and additional tasks:
- Prepare various appointment letters within the effective pay period.
- Key position updates such as establishments, abolishments, duty station, org unit and supervisor changes in HRMS.
- Collect and verify physical and electronic new hire paperwork for completion.
Conduct HR reports, file maintenance and file audits to ensure accurate records:
- File all personnel related documents into the DFW electronic personnel file folder.
- Ensure files and records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and Agency policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:
Work Setting, including hazards: Will work in an office setting that is a fast-paced, high volume and a confidential environment. Position is in-person and not telework eligible.
Schedule: Typically, Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. May be required to work occasional weekends and evenings, depending on workload.
Travel Requirements: Some travel may be required throughout the state to attend training, meetings, and conferences.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Four (4) years of office experience.
OR
A Bachelor’s degree with focus on Business, Human Resources, Social or Organizational Behavioral Sciences, or related field.
Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment:
The following trainings must be completed within one (1) month of hire:
- OFM HRMS Basics.
- OFM HRMS Functional Overview.
- OFM HRMS Processor Resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications, our ideal applicant will possess some or all the following:
- Six (6) months of experience using the state’s HRMS payroll software or similar software.
- One year of experience providing technical support in a Human Resources or Payroll office, which may include:
- Processing personnel actions
- Recruitment
- Auditing records
- Consulting on the interpretation of:
- Rules
- Collective bargaining agreements (CBA)
- Policies and procedures for human resource issues
