Control Risks is seeking to interview candidates for several consulting positions. These positions will need to respond to crisis situations and may involve being part of an on-call rotation, especially during weekends. The positions are part of a global team and will occasionally need to work across EMEA and APAC time zones.
We seek a highly motivated, detail-oriented and business-minded professional with creativity, initiative, teamwork and project management skills to help drive our Crisis and Resilience Consulting practice inclusive of crisis management, business continuity, business resilience strategy, disaster recovery, operational risk management, employee preparedness and the range of various risk management program support engagements.
The role of Consultant, Crisis and Resilience Consulting, is a fee-earning position dedicated to a Tier 1 Control Risks client. The consultant will serve as a recognized subject matter expert, responsible to support, market, sell, and deliver crisis management, business continuity, and operational risk and resilience consulting support. Additionally, there is an expectation to support global operational crisis activation and response.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Work as a member of consulting project teams, with guidance from senior team members, to assist with business development activities and deliver crisis management, business continuity, cyber security, emergency response, disaster recovery and insider risk solutions, including:
- Supporting projects as a fee-earning consultant (e.g., assessing program maturity, conducting risk assessments, developing crisis management exercises, supporting business continuity reviews)
- Working with clients (e.g., educating client staff, presenting findings, working with client teams at all levels to implement solutions)
- Scoping and writing proposals for client engagements
- Co-authoring thought leadership and conducting research
- Collaborate across Control Risks to help better solve complicated client problems
- Coordinate or support client facing crisis management activation and response
- Design and manage robust metrics and reporting related to the performance of a client’s global program
- Support the design, development and management resilience governance documents
- Contribute on strategic resilience projects for clients, including the development of maturity models
- Support third party risk assessment planning and development
- Assist in design and management crisis management and business continuity plans at all levels of the client’s organization
- Support workplace violence prevention initiatives for clients
- Provide reporting and recordkeeping support for program maintenance
- Provide project management and administrative support
Knowledge and experience
Essential
- Able to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently
- At least two years of work experience in a professional environment
- Ability to produce and deliver well-crafted deliverables for clients
- Strong Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, creative and analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance competing requirements
- Understanding of basic risk management principles
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred
- Prior consulting experience
- Experience in one or more of the following risk management disciplines: crisis management, business continuity, cyber security, emergency response, enterprise risk management, disaster recovery or insider threat
- Eagerness to learn new skills, ability to quickly learn and develop proficiency in new technical tools
- Master’s degree and/or relevant industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, CBCP)
Qualifications and specialist skills
- Ability to travel up to 25-40% of the time and on short notice with a large degree of flexibility regarding work schedule and peaks in work intensity
