Responsibilities:
- Presenting new and pre-owned vehicles to prospective customers, which involves:
- Developing rapport and determining needs and preferences to present options, providing test drives, qualifying buyers, developing quotes, suggesting trade-ins, explaining warranties, features, and services, and addressing concerns or questions as necessary.
- Overcoming objections and using negotiation skills to close sales and satisfy customers.
- Attending sales training (including Ford-specific training), reading professional publications, reporting monthly activities as required, and making recommendations to the Sales Manager relative to sales opportunities.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
- State Board of Vehicle Manufacturers, Dealers, and Salespersons Licensure to sell automobiles (or qualifications necessary to secure licensure upon hire)
- One or more years of prior sales experience
- Completion of Ford Sales Training (within 90 days of hire) and continuing education as required to maintain certification
- A basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, computer software, and internet-based automotive classifieds and consumer marketing websites (Auto Trader, Cars.com, CARFAX, Craigslist, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communications ability, including demonstrated negotiation and presentation skills and a professional demeanor
- Ability to work irregular hours, which may include evenings, “bell-to-bell” hours, and/or Saturdays
- Prior automotive, warranty, feature, trade-in, and related sales experience (preferred)
- Experience selling Ford automotive products (preferred)
