TUV SUD Global Risk Consultants (GRC) is the leading unbundled property loss control provider worldwide, offering a complete portfolio of services including Fire Protection Engineering, Boiler & Machinery Engineering, Infrared Thermographic Surveys, Jurisdictional Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspections, Natural Hazards Analysis, Diversified Services, and Loss Control Training. General Responsibilities:
- Conduct property loss control surveys to evaluate the property and business interruption exposures at client facilities based on NFPA Standards and others as appropriate.
- Develop recommendations based on standards to include loss estimates before and after completion of the recommendations.
- Evaluate automatic fire protection and water supply systems.
- Report and evaluate building construction, occupancy, special and natural hazards.
- Develop loss estimates based on scenarios such as the Maximum Foreseeable Loss.
- Provide training and peer review for other consultants; serve as a technical resource to other consultants.
- Prepare and present proposals, develop service instructions, solicit client feedback and prepare stewardship reports.
- Work assigned is typical of higher technical need as well as being in direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makers.
- Provide project management services to include special visits, plan reviews, and oral/written presentations to clients.
- Actively manage your work assigned in the database.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Review and respond to communication from clients and internal communication.
- Carry out fieldwork, report writing, consulting, and plan review.
- Review workloads and revise accordingly.
- Must be able to: climb ladders; lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; stoop, crouch, crawl; traverse catwalks.
- Travel may be up to 50% and include out of district work including overseas travel if needed.
Your qualifications
- Four Year College Degree - engineering preferred.
- May hold any of the following certifications or be working toward Professional Engineer License (PE), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
- 3-5 years of consulting experience in fire and property loss control.
- Ability to come to a sound conclusion based on information collected and the applicable standards/guidelines required.
- Gather and communicate information in a clear and concise report/letter/e-mail.
- Ability to manage your own workload.
- Recognized technical expertise.
- Computer literate.
