Working in true collaboration with Enterprise level US clients, we’re building out a dedicated Client Service Consulting team, which means we need amazing people. One of those people is a US Enterprise Communication Consultant.
Our Consultants are responsible for the effective day-to-day delivery of communication solutions to our clients, and this position requires a strong writer with in-depth knowledge of employee benefits. You’ll be coming up with fresh and original concepts to develop content for deliverables across pretty much every channel and media there is, so you’ll need to be flexible, open-minded and able to think on your feet.
You must be able to write engaging headlines and copy that hooks people, but also enjoy working on long-form copy. You’ll need to be comfortable jumping between different projects all under one brand and tone of voice. Helping to craft messages and stories into meaningful communications – all with great attention to detail.
You must be comfortable with a fast-paced work environment, committed to deadlines and agile to change. You’ll be collaborating closely with members of the Client Service, Creative and Digital Team to deliver amazing experiences for audiences and measurable results for our client. How you'll make an impactA hands-on consultant with a passion for your communication who strives to create beautiful, simple experiences that deliver results. You personally ensure all deliverables meet your own high standards and the client’s expectations.
Client Delivery- Demonstrate strategic and conceptual thinking to create and manage original, persuasive and compelling work, across multiple projects for a variety of audiences and media.
- Understand and immerse yourself in the client’s strategic objectives and audience insights.
- Quickly understand the brand’s tone of voice (TOV) and style guidelines and write compelling, on-brand copy that is timely, informative, and actionable.
- Challenge and develop the output of the Creative Team, while maintaining quality and efficiencies.
- Develop cooperative solutions and cohesive storytelling through partnership with the senior design team, consultants, and SMEs.
- Present and sell your own work, both internally and externally.
- Working with Senior Consultant, contribute to the preparation and delivery of communication strategies, plans and presentations.
- Brief and/or review the content of other writers (internal and freelance) as required.
Relationships- Build strong relationships that enable day-to-day account, project and stakeholder management and, ultimately, successful and effective project implementation.
- Daily engagement with creative, copywriting, digital and strategy teams.
- Provide professional, high-quality service to all clients, colleagues and other third parties.
- Proactively manage all stakeholder expectations (internal and external), always aiming to exceed those expectations where possible.
- Mitigate project conflicts by proactively seeking outcomes that are acceptable to all stakeholders.
Administration- Accurately record all chargeable and non-chargeable time.
- Participate in at least one team presentation / thought leadership piece annually.
- Help create and maintain Client Development and growth plans.
Business development- Ensure the profitable growth of the business by identifying and proactively developing opportunities to secure additional revenue from the client.
- Proactively develop client case studies.
- Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and Gallagher’s shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business.
About YouRequired: Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 10 years related experience.
Preferred:
Technical Knowledge- Competent technical specialist in employee benefits and internal communications.
Experience- Creative agency, marketing, consultancy or HR/Benefits communication experience preferred.
- 5+ years of project and client management experience required.
- A range of work to show – anything from conceptual to technical to editorial – ideally with a mix of long and short copy.
Skills/other- No egos. We want open, honest, optimistic, and collaborative.
- Superior attention to detail, a hatred of typos, and a love of grammar.
- Ability to write both creatively and technically, creating clear, succinct, persuasive copy.
- A flair for narrative and storytelling and an understanding of the role copy plays in supporting wider project and business goals.
- Ability and desire to push and be pushed to create outstanding work each and every time; can take on broad feedback and criticism.
- Service-oriented: outstanding customer service, ability to translate client needs, manage expectations, and develop and maintain strong relationships.
- Able to deal with change in a positive way.
- Excellent organization skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Core consulting skills in communication and project implementation, including proactivity, questioning, listening, and taking a collaborative/partnership approach with clients (not order-taking).
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and develop workable solutions.
- Confidence to challenge and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders when required.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and computing skills; experience using a Mac preferred.
