Our top-tier client is looking for an Electrical Engineering Consultant with 2-3 years' experience in Power Systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting MAS Engineers (MOD Administrators) with network model data handling in MOD.
- Formatting data received from TOs into PSS/E compatible automation files with the required modeling conventions.
- Updating the NE model in MOD.
- Creating MOD Basecases for Transmission Owners, MMWG.
- Updating generation profiles by collating data from various sources and establishing a mapping between resources, assets, Bus Numbers, and uploading data (contingencies, project data, load profiles, and resource data) to the BaseCase Database and managing it.
- Uploading the above-mentioned data to MOD and the BaseCase Database and maintenance.
- Assisting PSMM-MAS Engineers with routine data-intensive tasks related to steady state, stability, short circuit, and GMS cases.
- Performing preliminary review and validation of modeling data received in MOD & BCDB, working on updating established guides and procedures.
- Assisting PSMM-MAS team to automate case building, maintenance scripts using JAVA, Python.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with power systems experience.
- The position requires excellent analytical skills, and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to quickly respond to and resolve problems with all aspects of the communications computer systems, application software, user interface, and data communications.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment, and to complete tasks independently.
- Ability to work under demanding time constraints.
Desired Experience:
- Power System Engineering experience (direct modeling experience in PSS/E is preferred), Proficiency with PSS/E Power Flow and Dynamics.
- Experience with Python programming, ASPEN/Short Circuit data.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
