Ramboll is looking for experienced candidates for full-time acoustical consultant positions located in the United States. The acoustical consultant will be working in a challenging and variable environment that will include detail-oriented independent work and client interactions.
Our team is growing to meet the expanding environmental noise and vibration assessment needs of clients across various sectors – including infrastructure, renewable energy, ports, transportation, and data centers. As our new senior acoustical consultant, you will be part of a dynamic team providing state-of-the-art scientific, technical, and strategic risk management knowledge to an international client base. Your key tasks and responsibilities will potentially include:
- Leading projects involving environmental noise assessments, noise mitigation design, and acoustical specification.
- Completing project noise analyses that include acoustical modeling (CadnaA, SoundPlan, or similar) and mitigation design/specification.
- Leading sound level surveys and related field work in a range of environments from busy urban areas to remote locations.
- Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, provincial, and federal environmental regulations affecting the siting, design, construction, and operation of projects.
- Preparing reports and communicating results to clients.
- Growing client relationships.

- B.S. or M.S. in an Engineering, Science, or Mathematics related major.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in acoustical consulting, preferably with considerable focus in the field of environmental noise assessments.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Solid skills with office software tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneNote).
- Environmental acoustical modeling software skills.
- Demonstrated capabilities in understanding and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well independently and at remote job sites.
- Ability to work well with a team.
Helpful Additional Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success delivering acoustical consultation and design across industry sectors such as manufacturing, technology, energy, water, and transportation, via various project delivery methods including design-bid-build and design-build (turnkey).
- Working familiarity applying acoustical-related industry standards such as ISO and ANSI(ASA).
- Experience conducting environmental noise assessments in compliance with NEPA or comparable state or international requirements.
- INCE Board Certification and/or Professional Engineering license.
