Job Summary: The Senior Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of inventory in our Wilmington, MA Distribution Center by executing cycle counts, completing physical inventories, count reconciliations and reporting, as well as conducting food safety audits and supporting Quality department initiatives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Owns the planning and execution of company required inventory counts. Conducts cycle counts and corrects discrepancies to ensure accuracy, avoid preventable aging, minimize out of stocks, order mis-picks, and prevent other operational barriers.
- Handles all documentation within the inventory system including receipts, transfers, returns, and journal entries associated with damage, donations, and rework product.
- Supports Plant Quality Management for product hold/release requirements and execution of non-conformance reporting (NCR).
- Determines disposition of damaged product and investigates product damages and causes.
- Provides feedback to supervisor and leadership regarding issues causing inventory variances and loss trends.
- Validates receiving documentation against bill of lading (BOL) and other shipping documents.
- Troubleshoots inventory issues as they arise.
- Assists with internal audits for food safety.
- Follows all safety procedures and actively participates in safety training and safety system ownership initiatives.
- Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and persons; reports any injury, accident and/or unsafe condition to supervisors immediately.
- Supports and complies with GMP’s; understands and follows emergency action plan.
- Ensures the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday with periodic required overtime. This position is expected to work some end of period Saturdays, when required, and all fiscal year-end Saturdays.
Education and Experience: The minimum requirements below are representative of the education and experience required to perform this job successfully.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- ERP or MRP Systems advanced warehouse management experience strongly preferred (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- 2+ years cycle counting and/or inventory management experience required.
- 1+ year warehouse operations experience required.
Qualification/Skills: The skills listed below are representative of the technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills required to meet the job qualifications for this position.
- Technical skills include forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced ERP system knowledge.
- CPG experience preferred.
- Interpersonal skills include strong verbal and written communication and time management.
- Leadership skills include a positive attitude, being a team player, and self-leadership.
