Our Georgia Practice works with clients such as states, health systems, safety net hospitals, and academic medical centers, and medical schools to navigate opportunities to strengthen their Medicaid business through the conception, creation and implementation of programs designed to increase Medicaid reimbursement and leverage their unique capacities to deliver on the quality and value propositions growing in Medicaid. Our teams work together to ensure that technical, policy and political solutions are created to ensure successful results for our clients, particularly in the area of Medicaid financing.
About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking an Associate for our Georgia practice (based in Atlanta, GA – Hybrid) who will support Directors, and Associate Directors in delivering healthcare consulting services in areas such as Medicaid financing and policy, benefits, provider reimbursement, regulatory compliance, managed care, and general business development. This entry level position is the first step in a career path for future personal and professional growth at the firm. This role will provide project management and research support to the project team, including coordinating and tracking action items across the team, preparing for internal and external meetings, and researching policies including state/federal laws and regulations related to healthcare.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes
- Effectively manage project tasks as directed by the Director and/or Associate Director, including scheduling, creating agendas, drafting necessary meeting materials, capturing, and tracking action items and next steps, distributing assignments to team members, and ensuring that deadlines and assignments are accomplished in a timely and complete manner.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of meetings, conferences, panels, etc.
- Draft client deliverables and project management documents, such as project timelines, as directed by the Director and/or Associate Director.
- Maintain and organize client deliverables and project management documents in the team’s SharePoint folders and project software.
- Provide research support to support the Georgia Practice.
- Assume increasing levels of responsibility related to project and client management as directed by the Director and/or Associate Director.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master's degree strongly preferred). Degree in either public policy, public administration, public health, health administration, economics or business with a healthcare focus is not required but strongly preferred.
- Up to 3 years of relevant professional business or government work experience.
- Experience with state health agencies, e.g., Medicaid, public health, health insurance, and the Affordable Care Act is preferred.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel required.

- Detail oriented, with experience organizing and coordinating the work of others. Previous project management experience or administrative coordination is strongly desired.

The anticipated salary range for candidates is $56,800 /year in our lowest geographic market range to up to $70,000 /year in our highest geographic market range. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate’s education, and the candidate’s market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey’s Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 6 % of annual salary.
Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short-term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey’s 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements. Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off that allows employees to use what they need. Additionally, we offer 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, paid time off for qualifying medical leave, and up to 12 weeks of combined paid parental and bonding leave. The foregoing benefits and paid time off, including an employee’s eligibility, therefore, will be controlled by applicable plan documents and Sellers Dorsey policy.
