Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develops lists of prospective customers from review of publications and contacts with business and real estate firms, providing such information as personnel transfers, home-sales listings, and commercial relocations.
- Calls on regular and prospective customers business establishment and describes services provided by the company.
- Process telephone orders from accounts requesting relocation services.
- Examines goods to be moved or stored, estimates cubic feet of storage or shipping space required, and computes the cost of packing, crating, moving, shipping, and delivering household goods, office furnishings, machinery, or other material.
- Records details on itemized sales contract, such as value and description of goods, packing instructions, and charge for each service.
- Responsible for attaining sales goals, closing ratios, and completing sales reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

A valid driver’s license is required, and a driving record to meet or exceed company requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in the use of standard software packages, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
