As a Clinical Engineering Consultant, you will be part of the Technology Management team providing implementation, service, and support for all Banner Health medical equipment. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment with state-of-the-art technology that directly impacts the patient experience.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides technical expertise used to develop and implement equipment plans for capital projects throughout the system. The project management team provides technical and business expertise to assist the organization's Materials Management and Construction Management Teams in evaluating, leveraging and selecting capital equipment manufacturer and design standards to be implemented during capital projects.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Supports the development and review of business plans by assessing equipment needs and developing accurate capital equipment plans and budget estimates for construction and other projects involving equipment.
- Works with Materials Management in the development and enforcement of established equipment manufacturer standards for medical and communication equipment.
- Provides clinical engineering support for major projects and primary FF&E equipment planning administrative support for major construction projects.
- Provides professional communications and appearance while interfacing with senior management, finance, physicians, clinical managers, and staff.
- Provides consulting services in a professional manner by providing frequent and appropriate communication with customers.
- Provides appropriately detailed equipment planning documentation and training for the department’s technical service team.
- Leads and collaborates with facility administrators, physicians, clinical managers, and project management teams to develop and implement equipment plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a strong knowledge of technology and/or engineering as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in a technology, engineering or related field. A minimum of five years experience working in a hospital clinical setting dealing with complex medical systems is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification as Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE), Certified Biomedical Equipment Tech (CBET), Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialists (CLES) or Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) preferred.
