Description
Lakota Solutions is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team and provide support for contract work at Fort Drum, NY.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Analyze malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools.
- Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists and hand tools
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
- Replace defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions
- Test overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency
- Weld broken parts and structural members
- May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment
- May repair, adjust and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.
Requirements
Basic candidate requirements
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Candidate must meet all requirements to be issued a Common Access Card (CAC)
Candidate must have 5+ years experience with the following:
- HMMWV Family of Vehicles (FOV) Fundamental Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
- FMTV/LMTV FOV Fundamental Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
- HEMTT FOV Fundamental Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
- Trailer Fundamental Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
- Power Generation Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
- Vehicle mounted Air Conditioning and Heater Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
- CDL-B – Required for vehicles with airbrakes that are over 26,001 lbs.
- CDL-A – Required for vehicles with airbrakes and tractor trailer combinations
- NYS Driver’s License – required to operate military vehicles without airbrakes
