Nurse Manager - Post Partum
The Nurse Manager - Post Partum role at our facility in Watertown, NY is a pivotal management position aimed at enhancing the quality of patient care in the Maternal department. This full-time, direct hire position offers a competitive salary and an outstanding benefits package. The Nurse Manager will lead and coordinate the unit/service on a 24-hour basis, ensuring high standards of care are maintained in line with hospital policies and nursing division goals. They will also implement and supervise the department’s Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program.
Compensation: $40.00 - $47.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff to ensure patient safety and the delivery of high-quality care.
- Assume 24-hour accountability for nursing services, staff, and overall unit operations.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Oversee the development, coordination, and implementation of the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program.
- Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, and development of personnel.
- Collaborate with other medical and administrative personnel to improve overall patient care and hospital efficiency.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current New York RN license is mandatory.
- BLS certification, required within 3 months of hire.
- BSN required, or equivalent as demonstrated by application of the theoretical aspects of behavioral sciences and nursing administration.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in clinical areas relevant to the unit/service patient population, with demonstrated expertise in the management area.
- Evidence of continued professional development and growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Nursing is preferred.
