We are seeking an Energy Management Consultant ( Strategic Energy Management Coach)
The Strategic Energy Management (SEM) Coach is responsible for guiding and implementing existing and new SEM efforts for our utility and industrial clients. This role includes fostering customer engagement and providing training and delivery of services to clients, while striving for continuous improvement of SEM, energy information and its processes. From contributing to RFPs to working with clients to propose, design, deliver and continuously improve our SEM efforts, this role will also collaborate with our Gazebo team to enhance existing Energy Information systems.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Communicating and collaborating. Frequent communication with the Cascade internal team, SEM participants, and utility clients. Good communication skills are a must, and candidates must be willing, able, and enthusiastic about participating in our processes to perform well in this role and to grow Cascade SEM skills.
- Establishing a relationship with large industrial utility customers (program participants) to fully understand their equipment and operations; working with them over the program term (2-6 years) to implement energy efficiency process improvements.
- Engaging with participants and utility clients to review and understand energy performance results, including outputs from energy intensity models.
- Providing professional workshop trainings and onsite delivery to participants.
- Tracking and reporting on energy performance results.
- Working with our utility clients to propose, design, deliver, and continuously improve our SEM efforts targeted at industrial and commercial participants. Deliver both one-on-one and group workshops to industrial and commercial clients.
- Working closely with other members of the SEM team to continuously improve our SEM processes, and to find ways to add SEM elements to Cascade’s other work, such as facility tune-up work.
- Working with our Gazebo software team to build SEM elements into our existing Energy Information and Energy Management systems.
- Contributing to SEM business development.
- Understanding the role and motivations of utility clients and support the “R&D” aspects of SEM program design and implementation. Excellent customer engagement skills are required in working with utility managers, who will be heavily invested and must be kept abreast of what is working and what is not.

This is a full-time position located in Southern California (San Diego preferred). Flexibility in hours is available with the expectation the employee must be available during normal business hours. Occasionally, additional efforts may be needed to meet the demands of clients.
Travel is expected approximately 10% of the time for this role. Most travel will be day trips Initially, with an occasional overnight trip as necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:
- B.S/B.A. degree in business, engineering or other applicable field, or equivalent combination of education and relative experience.
- Experience in SEM, demand-side management, energy efficiency, or relevant field
- Exposure to continuous improvement within the framework of Lean, Six Sigma or ISO 50001
- Hands-on experience in an industrial setting or with industrial clients
- Previous experience or exposure to project management, management coaching, and consulting
Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. The salary range for this position in San Diego/L.A . is $79,300 - $117,200/year . However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
