What You Will Accomplish Here…
The Senior Procurement Writer will be working in a team environment to take full accountability and own and manage proposals and competitive bids (RFPs) from start to finish. You will have an opportunity to leverage your unique skills as a detailed, persuasive writer to produce concise, informative and credible sales proposals that differentiate our organization from our competitors and ultimately help our Company drive revenue growth.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manages and is fully accountable for assigned proposals and RFPs from start to finish, including proofreading, editing, obtaining approved content and production of the final proposal.
- Prioritizes target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval of content to meet deadlines.
- Organizes multi-stage draft reviews of sales proposals, based on feedback.
- Ensures full content compliance with all RFP requirements by performing or coordinating compliance reviews of proposals and providing response content based on client’s solicitation instructions.
- Analyzes the RFP, develops bid documents (schedule, proposal compliance matrix, response templates etc.).
- Coordinates with Sales team and Subject Matter Experts for input expectations.
- Captures and communicates action items discussed during meetings/conference calls.
- Makes suggestions and revises content based on feedback from management.
- Proofreads content for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and clarity.
- Supports the proposal process by creating a list of tasks, assigning ownership of responsibilities, and maintaining an overall schedule to help ensure proposals are finalized on time to meet appropriate deadlines.
- Attends and leads strategy meetings.
- Researches industry information, as needed.
- Proposes new, creative ideas to develop competitive bid response materials.
- Develops templates for commonly proposed services, as assigned.
- Follows and maintains procedures for RFP development.
- Develops efficient processes for preparing and releasing regular content deliverables.
- Maintains quality results by using templates and following proposal writing standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education, Skills, and Credentials:
- A minimum of four (4) years of previous experience in a related position is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Must be able to think strategically, work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English fluently to communicate with other members of the team and clients.
- Must have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and successfully meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness.
- Must have the ability to maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism while directly dealing with internal and external customers.
- Familiarity with or certification in APMP or Shipley a plus.
Location: This is an in-person, full-time position based out of our Lakewood, NJ office.
Schedule: Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
Pay: $65,000 – $70,000 annually.
Travel: Minimal to no travel required.
