HOW A DATA ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of a large-scale data migration project, moving complex data ecosystems from one cloud environment to another cloud environment.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data architects, developers, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements, identify migration challenges, and develop robust migration strategies.
- Leverage advanced data engineering techniques, such as data ingestion, transformation, and modeling, to ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability throughout the migration process.
- Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance, ensuring that migrated data adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize and streamline data pipelines, leveraging cloud-native services and automation tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness in the cloud environment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- MS (or equivalent experience), 8+ years of experience
- US Citizenship Required
- Demonstrated experience in leading data migration in AWS cloud.
- Proficiency with AWS data services such as S3 (data lake), Redshift (data warehousing), Athena (querying data lake), Glue (ETL), and QuickSight (data visualization).
- Experience in data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes in AWS, including setting up data pipelines and automating data flows.
- Experience in database migration techniques, including schema translation, data extraction, and setup in the new cloud environment.
- Knowledge of AWS data lake architecture patterns and best practices for designing and optimizing data lakes.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices in AWS.
NIICE TO HAVE:
- Familiarity with AWS CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python for data engineering tasks and scripting.
- Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA.

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
