About The Role
As a business analyst in the Data Services and Management practice area, you will collaborate with team members to support the implementation of high-profile initiatives. Within the systems development life cycle, you will take an active role in the business analysis, requirements definition, design specification, and business architecture aspects on projects and interact with technical, business, and vendor stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing gap analyses of COTS applications and their ability to meet implementation requirements.
- Documenting business requirements and creating context diagrams.
- Managing all aspects of a business capability to build and maintain its business architecture (requirements, policies, applications, etc.).
- Developing and presenting justifications for system or business process requirements.
- Analyzing quantitative data to drive recommendations and decisions.
- Providing oversight and feedback on vendor deliverables and/or artifacts throughout the project life cycle.
- Coordinating the elicitation, documentation, review, and approval of requirements from key stakeholders using industry standard methods.
- Creating or improving existing templates for the business analysis functions.
- Participating in project meetings and calls with stakeholders.
- Providing other business analysis support, as required.
This role will be performed onsite in Albany, NY.
About you:Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience working on complex projects with two or more years in a leadership role as a business analyst that include elicitation, documentation, review, and approval of business requirements from stakeholders using industry standard methods.
- Minimum of five years of client-focused business and requirements analysis experience and documentation including: conducting and leading requirements gathering sessions; analyzing requirements gathered; and identifying, documenting, and validating system requirements for continuous integration and deployment.
- Minimum of three years of experience conducting business process analysis and optimization in a technology environment, while documenting the as-is and proposing the to-be states.
- Minimum of three years of experience creating requirements documentation, such as use cases, screen prototypes, and specifications while adhering to preestablished templates and using a requirements management tool.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
- Ability to apply industry best practices and state/federal mandates to system requirements.
- Experience identifying project risks/issues and proposing solutions.
- Ability to work independently and to manage work to a defined schedule.
- Current certified business analysis professional (CBAP) or similar certification.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, business or public administration, project management, and/or communications.
- A minimum of five years of related experience.
The pay range for this position is $79,793.00 to $109,716.00 per year.
