JOB SUMMARY
We seek a dynamic and experienced Design Consultant Manager to lead our floors and cabinets division in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in interior design, particularly with flooring and cabinetry, along with proven leadership skills to manage our design center consultants and design operations. The Design Consultant Manager will oversee all aspects of the showroom, from staff management to customer service, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for all clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the design center, ensuring a high standard of excellence.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the design center team to achieve sales targets and provide outstanding customer service.
- Work closely with clients to understand their design needs and preferences, offering expert advice and solutions for flooring and cabinetry projects.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry trends, products, and technologies to provide innovative and up-to-date solutions to clients.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure a diverse and high-quality product selection is available.
- Implement strategic marketing initiatives, including promotions, events, and advertising, to attract and retain new clients.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and displaying products in the showroom.
- Ensure the design center and all displays are well-maintained, organized, and visually appealing.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage the budget for the design center, including sales forecasting and expense management.
- Immediately advise the management team of situations that could negatively affect builder relationships or associates.
- Sell upgrades to new homebuyers.
- Non-upgrading homebuyers will also be afforded full appointments.
- Demonstrate product and system knowledge commensurate with fulfilling the role.
- Schedule appointments for assigned communities.
- Generate all paperwork associated with placing orders or updating communities.
- Submit all paperwork in a timely manner (within 48 hours, except for “quick closes,” which may require more expedient processing).
- Update the builder and all the necessary parties with all relative information pertaining to each homebuyer with whom one interacts.
- Attend model walks and job walks for assigned communities.
- Participate in maintaining the atmosphere of teamwork within the sales department and between all departments of the company.
- Attend mandatory Sales Meetings.
- Interact professionally with all support functions of the company as others check orders, order samples and materials, and schedule installations.
- Help follow through with customer care-related issues.
- Schedule and assist with tile approvals.
- Participate in new designer training and growth via showroom and back-office shadowing and mentoring.
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with assigned builders, local community, and industry professionals to build relationships and promote the business.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design center, showroom, or retail management role, focusing on flooring and cabinetry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with home builders, homebuyers, staff, and business operations.
- Work well under pressure/time-sensitive deadlines.
- Strong Administrative skills are a must.
- Organized and serious time manager.
- Work proactively and demonstrate a "can-do" teamwork approach.
- Organized and punctual, and able to multi-task.

- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office, PC & Internet use.
- Proficient in design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Texas Driver License.
- At least one year of sales experience is required.
- Flooring and cabinetry experience preferred.
- Knowledgeable about current design trends, products, and technologies in flooring and cabinetry.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs.
