Background
Are you passionate and experienced in working on challenging projects in carbon emissions modeling, sustainability/ESG reporting, sustainable supply chain and circular business models? Do you like to identify opportunities for transformation and drive change? Are you passionate about technology and enabling ESG transformation using technology?
We have an opportunity on our US based Sustainability team to support North American Market. You will be a member of Cognizant’s rapidly growing Sustainability Practice, identifying sustainability opportunities at Fortune 500 companies and participating in impactful projects.
We are looking for an energetic individual with a focus on quality, detail and delivering value to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Strategic and Subject Matter Expertise: Provide clients with expertise in strategic, technical, and reporting aspects of various climate challenges, including decarbonization, risk management, emissions measurement, Life cycle analysis (LCA), Circular economy and reporting. Ability to advise or conduct Climate Impact Assessment or Nature Impact Assessment.
- Collaboration and Influence: Work closely with partners, senior managers, and clients to shape strategy, balance risk, and meet client expectations. Partake in business and data strategy projects as the sustainability expert, examining key potential sustainability strategies and opportunities across an array of client sustainability program maturity levels.
- Project Management Excellence: Demonstrate strong project management skills to independently manage small ESG projects or manage change with influence. Demonstrate the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, produce high-quality deliverables and manage client relationships.
- Consulting Mindset and Relationship building: Possess the ability to solve complex client problems through research and data analysis, synthesize insights to guide executive decisions, and communicate effectively with senior leaders.
Qualifications
- 4+ years professional experience working with large corporations (sustainability space is a plus).
- BS or MS in a business, scientific, mathematical or engineering subject (focus in sustainability is a plus).
- Sustainability experience with topics such as climate change megatrends, net-zero decarbonization strategies, GHG inventory plans, and data management.
- Good acumen and point of views on upcoming regulation like CSRD, California climate disclosure etc.
- Experience with CSO sustainability reporting frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, TCFD etc.).
- Knowledge on Nature impact assessment and framework like SBTN, TNFD etc.
- Exposure or Experience on any emission data management platforms such as Microsoft sustainability manager, Salesforce Net zero cloud, IBM Envizi, or Workiva reporting will be an added benefit.
- Previous experience in a consulting or advisory role.
- Client focused, detail-oriented, organized and independent thinker.
- Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels.
- Travel needs: 20%.
